Ragnok’s life began as many Tiefling’s do, abandoned as an abomination by his parents at birth. The Storval Plateau is a dangerous place for the most experienced warriors so when Ragnok’s parents left him there, it was sure to be his demise. However by some act of what can only be called divine intervention he survived 3 days on his own without food, water, or the love of a mother. Ragnok was very near his death when a member of the Shriikirri-Quah Tribe came upon him on there annual migration. The Shriikirri-Quah’s being somewhat more accepting of outsiders recognized the baby as Shoanti of an unknown tribe but Ragnok’s Skin was a shade of red, with arms already the size of a boys, and small horns protruding out of his forehead and jawline. The Shriikirri-Quah took Ragnok in and raised him as one of there own.
As Ragnok reached manhood his skill as a warrior grew and the tribes elders noticed his larger features made him particularly adept at fighting the Giants, Ogres, and other large creatures that often lurk in the lands of the Shoanti. From the age of 15, Ragnok acted as a scout for the tribe when they went to trade with the people of Sandpoint. On his first trip to Sandpoint a group of other children not accustomed to looking at a Tiefling started to make fun of and bully Ragnok. Knowing he could best the lot of them in a moment, he ignored them as best he could until a stone flung by an unknown attacker hit him in the side of the head. Ragnok spun around in the direction the stone had come from with his hand on the hilt of the sword he carried. To Ragnok’s surprise when he turned around there was a guilty looking boy with a dark hand clinching the scruff of his neck. The hand belonged to a man who introduced himself as Belor Hemlock and apologized for the youths intolerance. When Belor learned that it was Ragnok’s first time in Sandpoint he asked the boy if he would like to accompany him on his rounds for the day and in doing so be shown around town a bit. With each visit to Sandpoint Ragnok became better friends with Belor, sharing news from the north in exchange for food and drink.
As the years went on Ragnok began spending more time in Sandpoint and became close with many members of the community. Lending his considerable strength to those in need and acting as Belor’s eye’s outside of town. Ragnok earned the name “Giant Stalker” after hunting down a giant that had taken two sons of a well known farmer in the area. By the time Ragnok caught up with the giant the oldest of the two boys was all but devoured, after the Giant was slain only a few belongings of the eldest boy could be recovered. While the name “Giant Stalker” was well earned, every time Ragnok hears the name called out he thinks “If only I had been a little faster”
